Art Story
In "Karretje, muur en witte aanwezigheid", Roger Raveel combines an existing lithograph with a complete painterly intervention, resulting in a hybrid image that blurs the line between reproduction and original. The depiction of a cart, a wall, and a white form reflects his investigation into space, visibility, and the presence of the everyday. The "white presence" acts as both a visual and conceptual anchor, characteristic of Raveel's practice in the 1960s.
Personally dedicated to the artist and close friend Etienne Elias. It stands as a rare testament to Raveel's intimate artistic relationships and his experimental approach to medium and image.
